Drain and Toilet Problems
Toilet: If your toilet clogs, you can often get the blockage through the pipes with a standard plunger. Simply flush the toilet one time, press the plunger over the drain, and pump the plunger up and down to coax the clog through the pipe.
Drains: Debris in the pipes is the most common cause of sink or bathtub clogs. Many hardware stores sell a small plastic drain clearing tool you can use to fish debris out of the pipes. We caution you not to use corrosive chemicals in the drains, as this may cause greater damage and hurt your security deposit.
If your property loses electrical power, first locate your circuit breaker and see if it's been tripped. This can occur if the circuit is overloaded. Flip the breaker to reset it and see if electrical power comes back.
If you continue having problems, call your utility company. Outages may sometimes occur during bad weather or when construction is occurring nearby.
No Hot Water
If your property doesn't have hot water, locate the tank and check that the settings are correct. Reset the tank and wait 10 to 15 minutes to see if the problem resolves itself.
No Heat or Air Conditioning
If you lose heat or air conditioning in your property, check the thermostat to make sure the controls are set correctly.
